T.E.A.M Program - T.E.A.M. Session 1- Oct/Nov 2024 The purpose of the TEAM program will be to engage youths, ages 12-17, in programming that develops leadership, responsibility, collaboration, and self-confidence. Over the past few years we have seen declined participation in our teen community members. We have also seen a decline in our teen staff members. With the changes we’ve seen paired with advancements in technology and screen time there has been an increase in youth mental health struggles. The era of social media has made teens constantly compare themselves to others and feel more alone and withdrawn than in previous generations. Our goal with the TEAM program is to foster an environment where teens can learn, develop, and grow into strong community members through connection, engagement, and friendship.TEAM members will have the opportunity to participate in weekly meetings, leadership retreats, service trips, and adventures that will improve their quality of life, leadership skills, and benevolence. Our trips will range from educational, to experiential, to recreational. Providing TEAM members, the opportunity to be a part of a group they can learn with, laugh with, work with, and grow with will increase self-confidence, community engagement, and lead to stronger adults who will positively impact the world and people around them.TEAM Meet Up: Thursday, October 3 from 2:30-5:00pmHave your teens join us for a kick off to another season of T.E.A.M.! This is a free event for teens to learn about the program, our mission for the program, make new friends, and have some fun! NOTE: Even though this is free, please register your child so we know how many participants to expect and have a list of youth we will be picking up from BMS.Session 1: Compassion to Action: Driving change through community outreach. Thursdays, October 24-November 21Put volunteerism to action! Every week of this session we will be partnering with various groups to give back to our community and brighten the holidays.Session 2: Building your Mental Toolkit: Tools for practicing mindfulness and releasing stress. Thursdays, December 5-19 In this session we will focus on strategies for teens to utilize when stress levels are running high.
