College Scholarship - 2026 College Scholarship Application The Town of Barrington Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to offer two (2) scholarships. One scholarship totaling $3,000 and the second totaling $2,000 to a high school senior accepted at a college or university, or a current college student continuing their education. The scholarship program is funded as a result of successful participation in various recreation programs offered by the Town of Barrington Parks & Recreation Department.The following criteria will be used to select the recipient of this award:
Applicant maintains a permanent residence in the Town of Barrington.
Applicant demonstrates a clear intent to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a credited institute.
Applicant is a high school senior or college student in good standing status with their respective high school or college at the time of application and award.
Applicants should possess a GPA of “B” or higher.
Applicants having pending disciplinary matters or outstanding unpaid fines are considered not in good standing.
Applicant has not been previously awarded this scholarship.
If in question, the decision of good standing status is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
The following is the Policy for Award:
Two (2) scholarships will be awarded per academic school year. The first scholarship is for a total of $3,000 with the second totaling $2,000.
Scholarships will be presented to the recipients and then mailed to the college or university for the second semester.
If an applicant does not receive the scholarship, they are eligible to apply again in
subsequent years.
The scholarship committee reserves the right to not award a scholarship in any given year if the group of applicants does not adequately meet the criteria.
Town of Barrington employees and their relatives are eligible, except full-time Recreation Department employees & Recreation Commission members and their relatives.
The following documents must be received to be considered eligible:Please note that it is the applicant’s responsibility to provide all required documents. We will not contact you for missing portions of application paperwork. All paperwork must be received by the deadline in order to be an eligible recipient.

Confirmation of acceptance and /or attendance at the college or, proof of enrollment.
Two (2) letters of recommendation (cannot be written by relative, but can be written by teacher, coach, etc.)

Yoga - Morning Yoga - Winter Session II The Barrington Yoga program offers a soothing fitness outlet to adults of all ages. Utilizing the power of breath and controlled movement, participants will work to improve flexibility, decrease stress, and conquer personal fitness goals, while building new relationships along the way. Instructors are able to adapt certain techniques and poses to combat personal hurdles and to ensure all individuals get the most from their yoga experience.
