Golden Hour - Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better BalanceĀ® with Dr. Zach Golden Hour is a welcoming senior social that meets twice a month on Wednesdays, offering relaxed activities, learning opportunities, and time to connect with others.Golden Hour meets at the Barrington Parks & Recreation Community Center at 105 Ramsdell Lane. This is a free program; however, we do accept donations for light refreshments & supplies that are needed. Some programs may require a fee due to other costs associated and will be noted. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.Wednesday, May 20: Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® with Dr. ZachDr. Zach Zdrada from Middleton Chiropractic will be visiting to teach about the importance of balance and ways to improve. Building off of Tai Chi, Dr. Zach will guide you through Tai Ji Quan, a research-based balance training regimen designed to help those who may be at risk of falling or with balance disorders. This class is great for beginners and we encourage you to come and try something new! Enjoy the hour long class, followed by light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, June 3: Ceramic Slip CastingGet creative and learn something new! Come learn about ceramic slip casting and pick from one of the many molds we have available to create something special for yourself, or as a gift. This is a two part Golden Hour- on this day we will mix the slip and pour the molds. Sign up to come back on June 17 to decorate your mold! The first hour will be spent pouring the molds, followed by light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, June 17: Painting Ceramic MoldsPart II of Ceramic Slip Casting- it's time to get creative! Come back to paint your poured mold from June 3 and continue to learn the rest of the slip casting process. You weren't able to make it on June 3? No worries! Pick from one of our ceramics to paint! A creative hour followed by light refreshments and good company!Looking ahead... Registration for these upcoming programs will open May 15, 2026.Wednesday, July 8: Chair Yoga w/ Shelley Snodgrass RobinsonShelley will be guiding us through a Chair Yoga series that will help improve mobility, strength, and mental health without getting down on the floor. It's a safe, low-impact way to get moving that does not require anything but a chair. This class is great for beginners and we encourage you to come and try something new! Enjoy an hour of Chair Yoga, followed by light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, July 22: Project GROWEnjoy the sunshine and get your hands dirty in the garden with some of our Summer Campers! You will learn about Project GROW, tour our community garden, harvest produce for the Barrington Community Food Pantry, interact and participate alongside campers, and even get to taste test some of our delicious vegetables and herbs. Enjoy time spent outdoors followed by light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, August 5: Northwood Bakery ShackCome meet with nearby local Kelsey Taylor of K. Taylor Co. & Northwood Bakery Shack! Bring a treasured baked item (bread, scones, cookies, etc.) to share, and a copy of the recipe, to share and leave with new baking inspiration. You can also ask Kelsey any baking questions to perfect your skills. Come for light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, August 19: S.E.A.T. w/ Joe MoneSupported Exercise for Ageless Training (S.E.A.T.) is a chair based workout that provides a low impact, high-energy challenge for participants of all ages, skill, and fitness levels. Joe is an energetic instructor who always has the best music for his classes. You'll be smiling, laughing, and having so much fun you won't even realize you're working out! An hour of S.E.A.T., followed by light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, September 9: Internet Best Practice & Security w/ Will LenharthJoin Will for a welcoming and informative morning on Internet best practice and security, offering helpful insights into today's online environment. The presentation will be following by light refreshments and good company!Wednesday, September 23: Guided Nature Walk w/ Brittany CarrJoin us for a low impact and mindful guided nature walk with Brittany Carr at the North River Preserve in Nottingham, NH. Tap into your senses and take in the natural world around you while gently moving your body and connecting with others. The North River Preserve is conservation land maintained by Bear-Paw Regional Greenways. We will end the walk with tea and snacks. Transportation available if needed, let us know during registration- limited seats available. You are welcome to drive yourself and meet us there as well!

However, please note that transportation is not always included, so be sure to check the details for each specific trip!
Weds, May 20, 2026 - Wenham Tea House*Enjoy a classic afternoon at the Wenham Tea House, believed to be the oldest continually operating tea house in the United States. Established in the early 1900s by the Wenham Village Improvement Society, it was created as a welcoming community gathering place and has remained a beloved local tradition ever since. Participants will savor a multi-course afternoon tea, including both savory bites and sweet treats, all served in this charming historic setting. It’s a relaxed, timeless outing rooted in history, conversation, and delicious food. (Food/beverage included in registration).
Tues, June 2, 2026 - Pickity Place*Savor a five-course herbal lunch at Pickity Place, where each dish features fresh herbs and edible flowers from their own culinary garden. This storybook cottage in southern New Hampshire inspired the illustrations of Little Red Riding Hood in the 1948 Little Golden Book. After lunch, enjoy time to explore the charming grounds, gardens, and gift shop, soaking in the magical atmosphere of this historic property. (Lunch is included in registration).

Your journey to Cabbage Island begins in picturesque Boothbay Harbor. Here, you will board the Bennie Alice and enjoy a narrated scenic cruise while you take in Maine's breathtaking coastline. Cabbage Island guests are treated to a traditional Downeast clambake including fish chowder, two lobsters, clams, golden corn on the cob, potato, onion, a hard steamed egg and Maine's finest blueberry cake. (Chicken available by prior request). Cabbage Island has been the home of traditional clambakes since 1956, cooking in traditional fashion - steamed over open fires between thick layers of seaweed and covered with tarpaulins to seal in all the great flavor and natural sweetness.
